Abstract

This article describes a multicenter research initiated in 2021 by the Center for Studies, Research, and Extension on Families and Public Policies (NEF), focused on the situation generated by the Covid-19 pandemic and planned to continue until 2025. It highlights the importance of Social Service intervention in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations and the urgent implementation of public policies, especially during crises like the current pandemic.

The research aims to analyze the progress of inclusive and redistributive policies in the context of managing policies for vulnerable families regarding Covid-19. Using a predominantly bibliographical and documentary approach, qualitative and dialectical-critical, the research examines the trajectory of public policies and the social protection system in countries in Latin America and Europe, such as Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, as well as England and Spain.

Data collection and analysis include existing legislation, technical and policy documents, interviews with managers and users of public policy programs, and focus groups. The objective is to contribute to improving the care of vulnerable families during the pandemic and beyond, proposing broader and sustainable policies.
