Abstract

This article aims to demonstrate how participative management in public schools can contribute to an autonomy and quality teaching-learning, while responding to the social desires of a reinvention of school management, where the student and the whole school community  play a leading role, helping to build a practical and emancipated knowledge. To achieve these objectives, we will use the theoretical and methodological contributions developed by Luis Fernandes Dourado and Messias Costa; Lauro Carlos Wittmann, Paulo Freire and Vitor Henrique Paro from the educational management perspective, from the complexities of school administration found by the directors in contemporary times, to the path revealed by the collegiate bodies expressed by laws and decrees, emphasizing the need for an autonomous school community that contribute to the learning and success of the students.
