Abstract

This paper aims to present the questions and search for answers regarding the challenges of a democratic construction in primary schools, based on a more participative educational management, in order to instigate an innovative, reflective and mainly liberating look, especially in Brazilian public education. The research focuses on how managers are able to articulate changes in the midst of obstacles and state bureaucracy and whether this transformation can actually become significant. In this sense, the work points to a case study, highlighting the experience and importance of the teaching staff, in the participation of activities, such as debating what can be improved in education and in school units. Because, the awareness of the management action, for the construction of collective pedagogical practices, committed to the social, is one of the necessary and extremely important challenges for the consolidation of a democratic education in a responsible way, with an educational process that's autonomous and transparent.
