TYPES AND FORMATS OF CONTRIBUTIONS

1. Articles Articles submitted for publication must be original and unpublished. Simultaneous submission to another journal, whether national or international, is not permitted. Articles must be between 4,000 and 10,000 words. Texts are initially evaluated by the Editors and, upon approval, submitted to ad hoc reviewers under a double-blind peer review system. In the case of multi-authored articles, all co-authors must have made a substantive contribution to the work and approved the final submitted version.

2. Thematic Dossier For each issue of Imagem: Revista de História da Arte, a dossier may be organized comprising articles related to a predetermined theme, coordinated or not by a responsible researcher. Dossier articles must follow the same guidelines as regular articles. Each dossier must contain a minimum of 3 articles and may include an introductory text following the same guidelines as a regular article.

3. Artists' Texts Section dedicated to experimental writing by Brazilian and international artists. Texts must be up to 6,000 words and may be preceded by an introduction of up to 2,000 words. They must include a title, abstract, and keywords in English, following the format of a regular article. No academic qualification is required.

4. Book Reviews Reviews must address national or international publications released within the last 24 months. They must be up to 3,200 words, include a brief title and the complete bibliographic information of the reviewed work. Direct quotations must be accompanied by the corresponding page number. Reviews must include an abstract, keywords, and title in English.

5. Exhibition Reviews Reviews must address national or international exhibitions held within the last 24 months. They must be up to 3,000 words and include the title, technical information, venue, and hosting institution. In the case of virtual exhibitions, the URL, access date, and time must be provided.

6. Interviews Interviews must follow a question-and-answer format and must not exceed 7,000 words. They must include a title, abstract, and keywords in English.

7. Translations and Documents Translations will be evaluated according to the importance and relevance of the translated text. They must be accompanied by the author's authorization, the original text, and its source. They may include an introduction by the translator of up to 2,000 words. Otherwise, they follow the same guidelines as articles.

8. Gallery A special space for exploring, relating, commenting on, and explaining images presented by the authors. Submissions must not exceed 5,000 words and may include no more than 8 images — preferably in color, at 300 dpi, saved as JPEG or TIFF (vertical: 24 x 18 cm; horizontal: 24 x 36 cm).
