Abstract

What role do emotions play in human life? To suggest some answers to this central question in the essay What emotion! What emotion?, art historian and philosopher of images Georges Didi-Huberman starts from some fundamental ideas present in Western philosophy, questioning rationalist positions that oppose emotion and action, and, above all, interrelates the ideas discussed with some images and works of art that evoke in us not only emotions, but the collective and political potential of feeling.
