Epistemologia paratextual. Prova e autoridade no prefácio à Historia genealogica (1755) de Johann Christoph Gatterer

Partindo dos casos do selo ausente e da imagem equivocada discutidos no prefácio à Historia genealogica dominorum Holzschuherorum (1755), de Johann Christoph Gatterer, este artigo investiga de que modo um prefácio do século XVIII pode funcionar não como limiar acessório, mas como dispositivo epistêmico que organiza e valida a prova histórica. Combinando análise paleográfica, estudo codicológico e leitura comparada das versões manuscrita e impressa, o estudo mostra como intervenções gráficas e dispositivos de validação da informação moldam, performam e autenticam a evidência documental. Propõe-se, assim, o conceito de epistemologia paratextual, entendido como conjunto de operações verbais e gráficas que, situadas à margem da narrativa, tornam-se centrais para a constituição da autoridade científica. Embora ancorado no estudo de caso de Gatterer, o artigo propõe uma inflexão teórica que recoloca a dimensão gráfica no centro da construção do conhecimento e da reflexão sobre seus limites, apontando para uma abordagem ampliada das práticas epistêmicas que vigoravam, ainda que de forma não predominante, na Época Moderna.
