Considerações históricas sobre a caça, da Pré-história à Antiguidade

O artigo começar por discutir o papel da caça desde os primeiros hominínios, os primatas consumidores, desde cedo, da carne. O consumo de carne é tanto uma prática social como fisiológica, em particular nos últimos duzentos mil anos. O artigo, em seguida, volta-se para os mais recentes milhares de anos e o desenvolvimento da cerâmica, agricultura, domesticação animal e vida urbana. Guerras, conflitos e espetáculos estavam embebidos em religiosidade ou espiritualidade. O antigo Mediterrâneo Greco-Romano testemunho uma enorme atenção simbólica e prática da caça, tanto nas elites, como nas expressões populares. O artigo conclui com o legado da caça com o passar do tempo e hoje.
