Abstract

The conference was delivered by Patricia Hill Collins on June 5, 2023, at the William Silva Moares Theater on the Guarulhos campus of the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp). It marked the conclusion of a series of four conferences held by Professor Collins during her visit to the Postgraduate Program of Social Sciences of Unifesp, funded by the Fulbright Foundation. We are grateful to Professor Collins for permitting us to publish the conference.

  • Patricia Hill Collins, University of Mayland (USA)

    Professora Emérita de Sociologia da Universidade de Maryland, College Park. Primeira mulher negra a presidir a American Sociological Association (ASA) em 2009. Reconhecida internacionalmente por suas contribuições ao pensamento feminista negro e à interseccionalidade como teoria social crítica. Autora dos livros `Pensamento feminista negro (Boitempo, 2019), Interseccionalidade, com Sirma Bilge (Boitempo, 2021), Bem Mais que Ideias (Boitempo, 2022) e Lethal Intersections (ainda sem tradução).
