This review analyzes the book “The Revolution’s Army”, written by Alejandro Morea and publish in 2020. It reviews the book’s insertion in the current historiographical field and its relationship with the renewed studies of the war that have been taking place for some decades. Likewise, the most relevant points of the work, the arguments and author’s hypotheses are highlighted, stating its contributions to the subfield known as the new history of war as well as to the politic and social history about the May revolution in the Rio de la Plata
