Abstract

It is common with the rapid technological advancement to have a lot of electronic equipment in the home environment and at work. However, these materials are composed of several toxic elements that affect the environment and health when disposed of incorrectly. The objective of this article was to analyze the ways in which post-consumer electronic equipment is discarded by students in the computer area, as well as their perceptions of this problem. For this, a semi-structured questionnaire was used for data collection to aid in the development of descriptive research. It was noted that most students are aware of the proper disposal, but have a little environmental awareness regarding the subject and generally perform the incorrect disposal.
