This issue is employed to think the universalizing, as the essentialist and unitary categories produced by social movements attached to binary oppositions in order to guide their own identifications. Reflections on identities in contemporaneity are also developed through the productions of Tadeu Silva, Stuart Hall and Avtar Brah. These reflections are enlightened through the concept of intersectionality built by Kimbelé Cranshaw and whithin Patricia Hill Collins’ work and by Donna Haraway’s theoretical elaborations regarding the concept of borderland identity and situated knowledge.

Keywords: Borderland Identity.
