O quadro de delirium, ou confusão mental aguda, relativamente comum, principalmente entre pacientes geriátricos. No entanto, trata-se de comprometimento pouco estudado e controverso entre os autores. Com o DSM-IIIR passou a ser possível urna uniformidade na avaliação desses quadros. Paraavaliaçãoquantitativado delirium pode ser Uhl o uso do mini exame do estado mental".
