Manifestações neurológicas nas Hepatites Virais

Resumo

As infecções pelos agentes que causam hepatites virais têm-se tornado cada vez mais freqüentes. Dentre eles os vírus da hepatite A, B e C são os mais encontrados na prática clínica. Manifestações neurológicas destes vírus podem ser divididas em agudas e crônicas. As primeiras relacionam-se a encefalites e meningites agudas e, raramente, mielites transversas e síndrome de Guillain-Barré. Infecções crônicas pelos vírus B e C têm sido relacionadas à polineuropatias autoimunes, crioglobulinemia mista e sintomas variados do sistema nervoso central. O tratamento específico antiviral pode reverter estes sintomas. Neste artigo revisamos as principais manifestações neurológicas das hepatites virais com um enfoque clínico e sugestão terapêutica.
